Welcome To Camp Wiyaka

Camp Wiyaka is a traditional summer camp on the shores of Sandy Pond in Richmond, New Hampshire where children ages 7-15 have been exploring, discovering, and creating lasting friendships since 1921.  We have a mixture of coed weeks as well as male or female single gender weeks.   We offer a variety of programs that utilize over 60 acres of woods and fields plus a 23 acre lake.   The waterfront is a great place to play on the shore, swim, fish, or take out one of our boats including sailboats, canoes, kayaks and rowboats.   The art lodge is where you can create all kinds of crafts and projects.   Campers will learn about nature, play games, and experience new or treasured events throughout the property.   Hikes and trips are taken to local areas including Royalston Falls and Mt. Monadnock.  Campers will live in a platform tent with up to 6 other children their own age and a counselor.  Meal time is spent in our dining hall and campers enjoy a family style meal with the bunkmates.   Every camp day ends with a sing along campfire and campers fall asleep to the sound of taps being played over the water.

Director’s Note

The goal of Camp Wiyaka is to provide each child with a positive camp experience.   Camper’s physical, social, and emotional safety is a priority.    Medical staff is present at camp each day, and every staff member is certified in basic CPR and First Aid.   Our staff is not only trained to facilitate games and activities, but they are also trained in conflict mediation and resolution.   The staff at Camp Wiyaka is provided the tools to ensure that every individual feels- and is- safe, happy, and part of our community.  I am available to campers, staff, and parents 24 hours a day if a problem, concern, or great game of capture the flag should arise.   I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the camp experience for so many, and look forward to an excellent summer!
